FALL BE KIND

Lately I've been feeling like I can't get through a whole CD. These are CDs that I love and hold a special place in my insides, wherever that may be, and still I can't seem to get into them lately. It's not a big deal, it happens pretty regularly. Still, it's kind of annoying when it happens.

Then this came out:

Listen to this amazing piece of amazingness here.

I know everyone is shitting themselves about this band. I am too, I have been for a while, and I don't feel bad about it. It's strange, I honestly don't remember the last time my favorite band in the world was in the Billboard Top 20. It's a pretty cool feeling. Whatever.

All I know is I'm moving to Nashville, TN in a few weeks. It's going to be awesome. I haven't moved somewhere new in quite a while, so I'm a little scared in a good way. Fall Be Kind perfectly describes the feeling of my life right now, and that's special. Not often does someone ask you "How are you?" and you're able to respond by saying, "Listen to this album." Thank you again, guys in Animal Collective. I owe you a bunch for this.

2009

I know it's not over yet, but we like to keep it informal here at PTV. If that means that sometimes the walls of linear time have to be annihilated, so be it. This isn't a year-end list anyway--it's not a best list, or a ranking thing, and many of these records came out a while ago. The records are in the order I remember them. Some of them have appeared every year, and some will probably do so forever. It's just a list of what's been filling the Void over the past 12 months.

New Feature: Mental Meltdown Jam of the Week!

Hey Everybody! I'm back now, but still busy/lazy, so my two sides got together and had a brainchild:

MENTAL MELTDOWN JAM OF THE WEEK!

Seasoned readers will be reminded of a previous (and somewhat failed) feature known as MAKEOUT JAM OF THE WEEK--a great idea, but perhaps too soon born. We're gonna try again, this time with a little special sauce.

Without further ado, here's this week's mental meltdown jam:

Stay high, ladies and gentlemen.

Austin Peralta - "Cecilia"

Couldn't resist posting this one. Austin Peralta's album Endless Planets will be out on the illustrious/alwaysawesome Brainfeeder label sometime early next year.
